#002 | Pipe Organ of the Orfeão de Leiria | Arts Conservatory
Leiria District
Acquired by the Orfeão de Leiria in 2008, this instrument was placed in the Church of St. Peter in Leiria, to serve the Leiria community as well as to act as a pedagogical tool for the institution's students.
Later, in 2015, it was moved to the headquarters building of the Orfeão de Leiria, in order to promote greater interdisciplinarity between the organ class and the other classes taught at the school. The instrument was built by the Hoffmann-Rhön company in 1960, although its wind chest was refurbished from a historic instrument.
It has 9 stops distributed across two manual keyboards and a pedalboard, and it is entirely mechanical.
